A hapless wheeler-dealer and his friends become involved in several unsuccessful schemes in southern Taiwan.

Introduction
A coming-of-age road movie directed by Hou Hsiao-Hsien, who just completed his “Taiwan History” trilogy with his last film, “Good Men, Good Women.” Instead of a clear narrative through-line, the film provides a realistic and layered depiction of how these men and women wander aimlessly through life, as if being blown by the wind.
Screened at the 49th Cannes International Film Festival.
Synopsis
Gao is a middle-aged man who dreams of making a name for himself abroad; however, he barely scrapes by and works shady gangster gigs assigned to him by his superior. His mischievous junior, Pien (Flathead), wants Gao to utilize his family’s inheritance and the two of them, along with Pien’s girlfriend Mahua (Pretzel), head south on a motorcycle trip.
